Affordable living in Memorial City/Spring Branch?

Hello! I just got a job deep in Katy and I currently live in the Humble area with my parents. It’s been 2 weeks but the commute has been soul crushing, especially with all of the construction that just started.

I want to move closer to my job, but I don’t want to live in Katy. Does anyone know good apartment buildings I could live?

The cheapest I found was $850 and it had great reviews but it was a sketchy area and run down building.

I’m a mid-20s woman who really values safety. I don’t need to live anywhere luxurious, just safe and decently nice. As a Houston native, it would kill me to spend much of my paycheck to still live in Houston so I’m really looking for something affordable. MAX $1500, ideally <1000.
