Advice on getting out of rat infested apartment

Ok so in the middle of September I moved into my apartment. The apartment was infested with roaches but I decided to handle that myself. About a week ago I noticed signs of a rat and I’ve caught two the last two days. My brother used to be a pest exterminator and he told me that once rats are present you basically have to remove them from the source or they will stay forever. Regardless of how much you close the holes they come out of. This makes me extremely uncomfortable. I don’t feels comfortable staying here and I never will. The apartments aren’t exactly dragging their feet. They gave me rat traps, they do extermination’s weekly( not for the rats) and they are sending someone to close the holes( I don’t know how long that’s gonna take).

Honestly I don’t think I can stay here. I can’t deal with coming home and having to get rats out of rat traps. I can’t afford to keep stocking up on traps outside of my bills. And honestly my anxiety and OCD is being affected by this.

When I asked about my options on moving out she basically told me I would have to pay like a 1k to move and I’ll still have a broken lease on my name. They are refusing to let me move into another unit in the apartments. I already have one broken lease and I can’t afford another one. At this point I don’t know what to do.
