Advice/Insight on Fishing Brays Bayou near Hermann Park

I've recently have gotten back into fishing and am looking for some knowledge on fishing Brays bayou.

The big question I have is what fish are in there? I can see some schools of small/medium sized fish but I'm not sure what they are.

The followup question to that is what should I use to try and land them? Usually when I see moving water I try to throw a spinner or something like that but the fish seemed totally disinterested.
