Adult sports leagues for beginners

I live near downtown and have been considering joining some kind of sports… Something to get my self motivated to move. Are there any leagues available for someone middle.aged who has no experience playing sports? I don't wanna joint a league and either bring the team down or be benched the entire time. Thanks
