Actual vampires?

The other day I was out at the market and ran into someone who claimed to be a legitimate vampire. They were whimsical and gave off an aura of power, restrain, and mystique. They had a neat business selling massage oils and massages, how quaint!

I'm considering going to the vampire meet up but I'm a little worried. Has anyone had any experience with it? It's not some sort of bloodletting bondage club is it? What should I expect?
