AC Compressor Replacement Costs

Well of course our AC compressor failed yesterday. It’s a super old unit that I’ve been putting off replacing for a few years now, so I’m kicking myself today.

We are getting quotes for $5-$6k for a 5-ton American Standard unit. Sound reasonable?

Our evaporator/coil unit was done 18 months ago and is American Standard as well, so we should be good there.
