A theory on our 1st inning pitching issues

Listening to the radio broadcast for todays game, it was noted that JV “looks like his normal self after the first inning” getting 3 Ks in the 2nd. In the 1st he gave up a hit and 2 straight walks, but thankfully pitched his way clean with no runs.

Whatever our starters are doing to warm up before a game is clearly not working for the most part. Very few starts that are really clean since Blanco’s no-hitter.

Perhaps a change there for ALL pitchers in the clubhouse would help with that issue.
