A reminder that while Abbott says it is safe for children and school staff to go back to school, he keeps the Governor’s mansion closed to the public because "it is not possible to safely provide tours while also adhering the CDC’s health standards."

Tour Information

Guided tours of the Governor’s Mansion have been temporarily suspended. In addition to being a historical site, the Governor’s Mansion is also the residence of the First Family of Texas and it is not possible to safely provide tours while also adhering the CDC’s health standards.

The Governor’s Mansion will reopen to the public for guided tours in the future, however tours may be modified.

Please refer to the State Preservation Board website for any new and information regarding public tours as it becomes available.
