A new era of fandom

I watched the David Carr years.

I remember the Schaub trade.

I was at the first Texans’ MNF game, December 1, 2008. The roof was open because of Ike. I was supposed to be studying for finals, but my dipshit childhood friend bought tickets and we fucking went. Ended up at Treasures to celebrate the win, but that is outside the scope of this sub…

I loved all of O’Brien’s division championships.

Personally, I might have peaked during the first quarter of Chiefs 2020 playoff game. Like fucking peaked.

Regardless, I love the Texans. I watched the pre-Meco years and was convinced we are getting better, and fucking love it!

I have two sons, 8 and 5. The Texans are going to be so much fun to watch this year! My boys are going to think this is … expected and almost ordinary. That being a Texans fan is joyous and a source of positive emotions.

They are going to take this team, and CJ, for granted. And I’ll tell them it won’t always be like this, but I’ll love every single moment.

What a time to be alive, and a Texans fan!
