A little update in case you’re interested. Things out near 249 & Beltway 8, Northwest/Willowbrook.

Power has stayed on the whole time, both at my workplace and my home. Things got pretty icy yesterday around 10 AM and one of our employees couldn't open his car door when he got ready to leave around 4 PM. The ice was too thick. He spent a while with a heat-gun melting it. (Had to run an extension cord out to the parking lot.)

This morning at my house, around 5 AM, internet went down. Of all the utilities to go out, that's the one I'm most okay with losing. Electricity, natural gas & water all fine. (Faucets left dripping overnight.) When I included the name of my ISP the auto-mod blocked the post, so I'm trying again. The provider is the company that starts with an X and then finity.

Drove over to the office around 8:30, even though the boss said we would not open before 11 and he would update us.

All good at the office, we'd left faucets lightly streaming. (We're on a well and no water meter, and property management wants us to leave water on so the pump does not turn off, which would be disastrous.)

Our internet at work is via Logix, it's a fiber optic line and we almost never have issues with it.

Over on Hollister north of 8, road surfaces were clear and dry with the occasional frozen water near the edges here and there. Lights at Bourgeois and Hollister were on 4-way red flash.

The convenience store at Hollister & Bourgeois, which is usually quite busy on weekday mornings, had two cars in the lot and none at the pumps.

Most of our vendors and customers are closed today.

Hope your day is going well.
