advice for court appearance

i haven't been to the courthouse many times and i need to go soon to get a new registration sticker, i won't be seeing a judge right? wanted to make sure because i have many facial piercings and didn't want to appear in front of a judge and come across as disrespectful, i know court attire is business casual. thanks for any advice!!
