How to build community in Houston as a musician?

I’m an independent artist who (semi?)regularly plays shows in the Houston and greater Houston area, and I was just wondering if anyone else is an artist or music artist and has any insight to share about the Houston music scene?

I have an event tomorrow called “Hot Ghoul Summer” I’m opening for at Warehouse Live, this is my first time playing this venue so I’m also interested if anyone has any insights to that venue as well.
