Advice on cremation

My mom recently had heart surgery and has been in critical care in the Houston Med center for a week now. The doctors are no longer optimistic about her odds. I have been her and my dad's caretaker for about 10 years (dad has epilepsy/dementia). I took a steep paycut to do that so I'm living paycheck to paycheck with my kids. Natural disasters have wiped us out financially the last few years (we've lost homes 3 times now) and we've had to move to the Livingston area. Her will stipulates she just wants to be transported, cremated, and have 10 death certificates provided (she's very pragmatic). She doesn't want a service or anything fancy. The funeral home I just inquired with wants $3,757 for that. I don't have that kind of money. Is that really the going rate? Is there somewhere else I should be looking?
