Heading to Houston for a weekend in early August

and was trying to decide between staying in seabrook/clear lake or Galveston. Where's the best place to spend a Saturday at or around a beach bar? I'm not much for ocean water, so a pool would been cool.

I used to live in galveston 15 years ago and remember some water front beach clubs. Do any exist anymore there or in Kemah?
