Are we in a better position than we were 3-4 years ago?

Just wanted to spark discussion since this season is lost, but I’ve been thinking a bit about our QB carousel days. Specifically the years that we had a top 5 defense and Brock Osweiler and Tom Savage at QB. Nowadays, we have a top 5 quarterback that can seemingly carry our team to be competitive in any game, and a league’s worst defense.

My question is: are we better off with Watson and no team around him than we were with a team and no Watson? I’d argue that I’m more excited going forward because it’s harder to find a talent like Watson than it is to build a team around him. Even without picks, I’m looking forward to the future with a new GM and head coach
