School choice sacrifice? I need some advice

I have what I think is a dilemma. I just moved back to Houston from living with family because I now have a baby on the way. 7 months pregnant as of now. My baby is due in September around the first or second week. Due date 9th. Issue is that I was researching schools trying to get my kids 9 4th grade and 11 6th grade into schools that had decent ratings, test scores, progress rating etc. I did some research applied with school choice and was lucky to get my daughter into a school where my cousin works like 5 minutes away and my son was accepted into a school which is 25 minutes away. Now this all worked out to what I wanted considering the schools buuuuut the dilemma is we are out of school district for the school that is 25 minutes away which I would have to provide transportation. Hop/Skip/Drive wasn't for this situation and Uber states 27 dollars. Only thing would make sense was to pack up my newborn and me in the mornings and take him to school and do afternoon pick ups. My Bf is a truck driver locally but work hours won't help. I'll be working from home during my maternity leave. My BF just started so he is still trying to see if he would be eligible for his 6 weeks of maternity leave which would actually be a good help at least until me and baby got at least a good week or two at home. My question is. do you think going out of my way after having a new baby worth the sacrifice to have my son at a decent school? And if you have any ideas what I could do to make this easier for me? Me honestly I think my kids education is worth the sacrifice just don't know how this could somehow work out for everyone smoothly. Thank you in advance and hopefully I provided enough information. Also fingers crossed that my bf will be eligible for the time off.
