Love/Hate Relationship with Houston

I love the diversity of Houston. All of the cultures, types of people, languages, and we have some really good food. I’d argue it’s the best city for food at least in Texas. I also like that it’s my home. I’ve lived here most of my life until I started going to uni up near dfw. I also lived in Europe for a few months.

Living elsewhere has made me realize the many issues that plague Houston: absolute urban sprawl, nearly complete dependency on cars, poor public transit, poor infrastructure, and poor weather. The only reason I would stay is for family and a job, since the economy here is so good. Does anyone else share these feelings?

Are a lot of you satisfied with the way Houston is organized? Many love to drive, but it is something I personally want to do as little as possible.
