Great Houstonians – Mr. Abel Garcia

Hello my friend, thank you for reading this article series of Great Houstonians. I had an amazing conversation with Mr. Abel Garcia. I met Abel via LinkedIn and I was blown away by all that he has done and continues to do for the Greater Houston area. Mr. Abel Garcia's background is in the executive search space as the President and Founder for Execufirm, Inc.  Over the past few years, he began focusing his efforts with helping local non-profits increase their membership and hone in on their strengths. He's worked with organizations in Houston such as the Houston Hispanic Chamber, Talento Bilingue of Houston, and National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) in Houston which have all seen drastic improvements in their membership levels.Abel has a passion for helping others become empowered. He has an especially big heart for the youth of Houston. Abel developed a program for high school students entitled "Becoming Tomorrow's Leaders". He believes strongly that it is up to all of us to empower children today for the leaders they will become tomorrow. A total of five graduating classes went through this development and empowerment program and the results were incredible, not only did it impact the GPA of the students but also led them to achieve higher education.As an author, Abel is the creator of a series of books entitled "Market Yourself To The Top". His books teach you how to implement an effective job search strategy, how to create a "Personal Marketing Portfolio" and "Search Plan" which will beat the overused resume any day of the week.
