Former Houston Nourish owner goes on random racist tirade.

I don't normally post these sorts of things. And wouldn't have if the person's posts ended with what I posted here, which is already atrocious.

The backstory for the pictures is that the poster of this story, Jessica Huffman, posted things about the George Floyd event back in 2020 that were racist in nature. She (and a couple of others) were called out by a local Houston musician and activist, Kam Franklin. When Huffman's handle was found to be an owner of a local shop, Nourish, she issued a public apology.

Yesterday, Kam posted a reel on instagram promoting her upcoming album to which Huffman, unsolicited, posted the story image attached (with no previous interactions I can find since 2020)

Huffman's insta story after this includes her recording herself talking about how she trolled people calling her racist (for this recent post) with the phrase "white power" and the like, starting the rant by calling those people "freaks" and "f*ggots". She at one point laughs about how she called ICE on her housekeeper because she "pissed her off".

I couldn't post the video here but her insta handle is @pressureshatterssheep if you check it out today. I'll likely also post this in other subs, which I'll tag here if the mods keep this post up.

Again, I wouldn't normally post this sort of thing, but I don't have many outlets to hold people accountable. As a BIPOC dad, I have feared the influence and damage a person like this can do and found how helpless I am to people like her. It's easy to ignore when it's just an online thing, but she's enough of a public figure that I thought that this sort of behavior shouldn't go unchecked. Sure sure, freedom of speech. She's free to say what she wants. But that doesn't mean her rhetoric should be socially acceptable.
