Prices for a haircuts are unreal.
Simple guy with simple hair. All I wanted is a normal fade. Nothing crazy. While I love my Vietnamese barber and his $15 cut. He can’t do a fade right. I normally leave him with a $5 or $7 tip. I wanted a nice, simple fade. Found 3 places near my house that were local owned. First guy: “normally without an appointment I charge a $20 fee”. mind you I been sitting there for 20 min and he was on his phone the whole time, once he saw me sitting there and no one hello he asked who I am here to see. I say just anyone. Then he told me a cut is $50, and since it’s my first time he will wave the $20 fee. The other barbers look at him like he was trying to pull a fast one one me.
2nd barber. Also wanted $50.. walked out.
3rd barber.. said he is famous showed me his Ig account (600 followers lol) and said he charges $60.
I keep my hair short and easy, all I wanted was a fade. Thankfully the 4th place I found, did an amazing job and charged me $30. Not bad. Is $50 for a simple fade normal or am I just lost?
