Would you say Inwood Forest (77088) is a good area to invest in?

Hi! I'm new to Houston and currently looking to buy a house. I’ve been trying to find something close to my job, and I found a place I really like in Inwood Forest — it’s only about 15 minutes away. The problem is, I’m not familiar with that area (or honestly, with any part of Houston yet), so I’d really appreciate your help.

I’ve done some research and saw that Inwood Forest has a higher-than-average crime rate, and that flooding has been an issue in the past. I also read that the city has been working on building retention ponds to help with flooding, which sounds promising — but I’m not sure how effective they’ve been so far.

If anyone has any insight on whether those retention ponds have actually helped reduce flooding lately, or can share what crime is really like in the area now, I’d be super grateful.

Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond — I could really use some of your wisdom here!
