Car broke down. Need a new one ASAP

So yesterday while I was driving back home, my car suddenly stopped working. The gas pedal wouldn't respond at all, and the battery light, fuel pump, and oil light all came on at once. I had it towed home, and turns out the mechanic messed up some bands, which ended up ruining the motor. So now I'm left without a car.

I'm urgently looking for recommendations on good and budget-friendly car dealers or reliable websites to find a used car in the Houston area. If you've bought from anywhere recently or know of a solid place with fair pricing and not a lot of BS, l'd really appreciate the help.
