Rant: Why is this city so dang ole dark at nite?

Because it’s nite time duhhhh!!!

No but really! I’ve been living in Houston my whole life and one thing that always frustrates me is the fact that this city lacks adequate lighting at nite. I was riding down 288 heading towards downtown and i noticed just how dark it was like I was riding down a country rural road. Why is it that a lot of the freeway lights seem to never work? I also noticed this when I was on 45 south going towards Galveston.

And it’s just not the freeways, it’s the roads as well. why is everything so dim? Sometimes I hate driving in this city at nite because dang near everywhere is so dark/dim. This city needs better lighting, It shouldn’t feel like I’m driving on a dirt road in Cut and Shoot, Texas(a real city btw)
