Dog needs help.

Hello,

my family’s dog lost an eye. It was attacked by a random dog in the neighborhood and now his little eye is sticking out. We took it to a vet but it’s going to cost around 1800. My family does not have that money to spare right now because the pandemic has taken a hit on them financially. And I do not have that much extra to help cover the cost. They got denied for the dog credit care program and just don’t know what to do. Are there any programs in houston that help dogs out? They said an option was putting him down but I don’t think that’s right for the dog since it’s only an eye.
