1630 Holman + 1414 Austin: Yea or Nay for Tenant Safety and Security?
Hi,
I'm moving to Houston this spring. Most apartment houses in Houston are motel-like in their design and that strikes me as burglary prone or they're high-rises that offer amenities like gyms that I don't want. I've spent my entire adult life living in older brick apartments houses with a common entryway, which I like because they're quiet and economical. I'd like to find something similar here except they're very scarce. The two I've found are 1630 Holman and 1414 Austin. Does anyone here have strong view about those places? From my research I know that the Holman building is in Midtown, which crime maps show as sketchy. I've lived in NYC so roaches don't freak me out and I can handle being close to street crime as long as I don't have to worry about my apartment being broken into.
Thanks,
Lloyd
