Houston Rodeo Question

Genuinely curious question. I have been going to the Houston Live Stock Show and Rodeo for YEARS. I have always enjoyed going inside to see the lineup of cows that are being prepared for FFA Competitions. However, are we allowed to ask to touch them? I have never seen anyone do it and have always been to embarrassed to ask since alot of times the people sitting next to the cows look serious most of the time.
