Mental health resources to avoid calling the police?
I suspect the answer to this may be a no, but is there any way to access mental health resources that can help a person who may be in distress aside from calling the cops? There’s a person who has been hanging out at the bus stop near me the past few days yelling obscenities who is obviously very unwell, and occasionally wanders out onto a busy street. With it being dark so early I’m concerned they could get hit by a car.
Im hesitant to call the cops given the way situations can escalate when this person clearly just needs help. Is there any alternative or does anyone have recommendations?
