Katy ISD officials look to state Legislature to increase funding to help with district’s shortfall, staff raises

Chief Financial Officer Christopher Smith said Katy ISD’s slowed enrollment growth and the state’s basic allotment caps place the district at a disadvantage to raise staff salaries. He said the upcoming legislative session will determine if Katy could continue to weather the blows of inflation.
