Restaurants to “Wow” Small-town Parents?

My parents are visiting me in Houston next weekend and I would really like to “wow” them with a good restaurant.

They are from a very small town and typically eat at small, locally-owned tex-mex places. I would love to show them how fun the ambience of Houston can be and care more about the environment than the food being five stars. Not looking for fine dining but something that will leave an impression.

Thought of Taste of Texas but it’s always so busy. Also considered Flora but it’ll be dark outside.
