Thanks Centerpoint

What better way to spend Christmas night then in a house without power, No A/C humming, dehumidifier blowing and a nearby train crossing ringing all night due to a slight amount of weather.

I love the gift of a restless night in a loud swampy house. I look forward to opening my next gift of clearing out hundreds of dollars worth of groceries and medication from my fridge. I appreciate your one last reminder of the year of why living here is such a blessing.

Real talk, we all appreciate the crews and personnel taking time from their families to restore power for others. This post is aimed to the people who are using and abusing Houston's power reliability for their own gain because we know well hear "this is why we need rate hikes despite our record profits" from this Christmas day outage.

I've lived in Garden Oak since 2023 and in that time (and not counting major weather events) I have lived without power for little over a month total. Countless times throwing out my fridge, money wasted on the excessive usage after to cool and dry out the house and having to temporarily relocated from my house due to these outages last days at a time.

I understand outages happen, I understand ground crew need times to mobilize and repair, I understand their working conditions aren't always fair and just. What I don't understand is the allowance Centerpoint has to bleed this city dry while crippling any since of sustainability.
