Good Puppy Socialization Spots

Hello! I'm getting a puppy next month so will be needing to socialize him before all his vaccines are done. I want him to encounter as many sounds and humans as possible, but also be able to do it without him walking on the ground. So are there any spots you have taken (besides dog parks and pet friendly stores) to socialize your puppy? I live near Memorial City Mall, so anything in that general area would be helpful as well. Thanks!
