Best interest vs PR vs Selling Point

I think the Hop trade has this organization moving cautiously from a PR standpoint. The most of the fan base has been pissed since March. Imagine the reaction from the casual fan watching JJ get traded (I’m personally ok with trading him. I’d be sad, but I’d understand ) and subsequently watching him get sack 100 in another uni. I’d be shocked if major deals were made before the deadline with the exception of any deal that’s just too good to turn down.

Is it crazy to think Watt would be more attractive to a GM/coach than whatever lowball picks these teams are offering? The new regime can come in and decide if they want to keep him or trade him during the off-season. I’d rather someone competent making the calls over Easterby.
