DPS same day appointments??

I lost my driver’s license yesterday and was looking into same day appointments since I’m not sure if they allowed walk-ins anymore..I don’t want to risk getting pulled over without a license even though I did get an appointment on the 12th. Has anyone tried getting same day appointments before? What is the earliest time? Thnx!
