My hypothesis for what’s going on

An unbiased friend who isn’t a Texans fan was watching the titans game and told me that he thinks the Texans are poorly coached.

I thought on that statement for a few days since I highly respected Demeco, and what I think is going on is the offense is poorly coached, players aren’t being held accountable on that side of the ball, especially the offensive line. The defense on the other hand is a different story and they are well coached, which is obviously Demeco’s realm. Up to this point, I think he hasn’t intervened to keep the offense accountable, but for what reason I do not know, perhaps he’s uncomfortable with the existing relationship with slowik, or Demeco just needs to take that next step as a head coach, because he’s still young in that regard. Regardless, this is definitely a knock on him as a head coach, but he’s capable of learning and changing, he just has to take that step.

Unfortunately it looks like it’s not going to happen until the offseason for him to take that action, unless a miracle happens at the bye. I expect massive offensive coaching changes in the offseason, there’s maybe too much to address now it seems. Our front office isn’t stupid anymore though, I think they’ll take the necessary action, but this year seems nearly sunk though and hopefully we’ll see it as a sacrifice for future success.
