Future of Houston transportation

I noticed over the years traffic is getting worse and worse. More houses and apartment were built due to more population floating in. I mean with such bad traffic for commute it is not surprising that it would trigger raging and reckless drivers. At which point would the government official would say a better transportation is needed. I understand Texas relays heavily on oil and gas for it's economy. Therefore , a lot stakeholders that prefer oil consumption would shut down policies in such direction. I also understand that everything is far apart and it's hard to have an effective train system in comparison to other smaller denser cities.

Perhaps there can be a conjunction of cars and trains. Like Uber cars or bus drive around the area (like neighborhood) to take you to the nearest train station. What is your thoughts? Hopefully Houston to Dallas bullet train could trigger more interest in mass transit…

Vent: I really hate bad commute to work. It sucks my soul. Without faster and shorter transportation, it discourages some to go out to different places that takes too long to get to.
