Is it just me or has crime been getting worse in the last week or so?

I live near NRG and Citizen has been blowing up with robberies, shootings etc seemingly more than it ever has. Earlier this week, a cop got killed down the street from me, just after that arson investigator got killed. I’ve only been in Houston for a little over a year, but am I crazy or is the pandemic really starting to take its toll on people?
