We were fortunate to catch up with some brilliant artists, creatives and entrepreneurs from throughout the Houston area and they share the wisdom with us below.
I started my business when I realized how difficult it was to find healthy desserts that fit my needs. I have a medical condition that prevents me from eating sugar, and I struggled to find treats that were both delicious and suitable for my diet. So, I began experimenting in the kitchen, creating healthier versions of desserts for myself. It soon became clear that many others were facing similar challenges, and that’s when I decided to turn my need into a business. Read more>>
It started with a babyshower. I was hosting my good friend Lori’s baby shower (also a creative biz owner-she’s amazing!) and I wanted to try and make French macarons for her. I’d heard they were super tricky, and so I gave it a shot and that first batch came out PERFECT.
Clearly I was super talented….until every other batch failed! Lol! So I had to get it right before her babyshower, and I became obsessed with figuring this finicky cookie out. Read more>>

The single most important decision I’ve made that has contributed to my success is prioritizing my health. Like Jeff Bezos, who takes time to putter around in the morning to get his brain ready for important decisions, I believe that taking care of your well-being isn’t a luxury—it’s a necessity. Prioritizing my health allows me to stay creative, think clearly, and make better decisions. It also builds a strong foundation to take risks, both personally and professionally. Read more>>

What makes me happy is having time to relax and find calm. Everyone deserves time for themselves, and I personally cherish moments dedicated to my own peace. I enjoy listening to music, sipping my all-time favorite drink—black tea with whole milk—and reading a good book to fully immerse myself in another world. I find these moments incredibly tranquil. While some people may enjoy gardening, cooking, meditating, or other hobbies, it’s important to carve out this time for ourselves in today’s fast-paced world. It’s what brings us happiness. I highly recommend taking at least 15 minutes for yourself—it’s perfect for de-stressing, and you’ll feel recharged afterward. Read more>>
