Coming back to Houston! Been gone for 2 years. What’s new, what’s changed, and how are things in 2024?
I'm coming home and I'm so excited. I've never been away from home for this long. I moved to South America around the start of 2023 (so not exactly 2 years but close enough!). I just moved back to the US to start a graduate program that's not in Texas and I've been so homesick.
Growing up in Houston and leaving and moving every so often, I know how drastic Houston can change in as a little of a few months. I've practically grew up and till this day when I'm back home live with my grandmother just outside the loop and S.Main near Allum road there was so much development happening around the area. We never thought we'd see the area become that. Her house has gone up to $400,000 in the little time I've been away. I'm scared to see what's in looking like now.
I'm excited to come back home, but everyone's tell me everything's gotten expensive, there's not as many mom and pop stops and what not. I'm sure most things are the same, but I'm just curious to hear how things have been and if there's anything new worth checking out and visiting while I'm back!
