Local art-framer had a breakdown and ran off with everyone’s art. Also, anyone know a good lawyer for navigating small claims?
If anyone remembers Jay's Frames in the heights, the owner seems to have went into a slow downward spiral over the last 2 years where it took him longer and longer to complete jobs. Guessing a mental-health issue, but who knows.
In the last month or so, he closed down his business, stopped responding to customer contact (other than a long-winded mass text or two giving random time-frames for getting up and running–which of course passed), and get this — reopened an entirely new business under a new name and phone number in a new location (which he did not message to his customers other than that he had moved).
On Google Maps, he renamed the business to Plain Jane to hide it and all the negative reviews (sort them by new)
You know it's bad when the customers are filing police reports….
Anyway, we have some art that's dear to us that's been held hostage since January. Any ideas for getting it back are appreciated. Thinking about small claims, or at least threatning it to get our art back (hoping he still has it).
