Powder coat steel (not about Houston but hoping someone near home can help me)

HELP! I am hoping someone on here will be knowledgeable about powder coat steel posts used for fencing. Ours are black and glossy. We paid about $300 each, 3 years ago, and now they sell for around $500 ea. Our dilemma is that we had a fence company out to replace what we lost in Beryl, which was the older side fence between us and the neighbor. I preferred to go with my fence company who built my picture frame fence because the back of our home faces a major road. The fence guy here today was staining and covered several posts with cedar stain. When we brought it to his attention,,he sent his young, non-English speaking helper to wipe the stain off if possible. This person wiped down every post and I noticed my beautiful glossy posts were dull and patchy looking. I asked what they cleaned my posts with and I was mortified to learn it was gasoline.

Can these be painted with regular gloss psint? Is my powder coat too damaged that it will rust quicker. Should I let this guy try to paint my posts how they were. He has already asked to use a different paint. I am thinking I just want to call my original company who built my fence. I know the posts cannot be removed from the fence because it is a picture frame design. I still owe the guy who messed up $1000 and I am holding this money until the fence looks just like did before today. My son says I should have original company repair posts and back bill fencing company who messed up.. keep their 1k and bill for any over that amount.

Thoughts? Advice? Can these even be painted? Help! That fencer is coming in the morning and he is pretty insistent about justice painting posts but I feel like I would end up with black paint all over my cedar planks. 😬😢 Can I add two pictures? Not sure how.
