What’s a good place to live between Clear Lake and Med Center?

One of us works in Med Center and the other might be getting a job in Clear Lake (he's going to interview). Our lease is up in November and we're in Energy Corridor right now. If we had to move, what would be a good neighborhood between those two areas where the commute wouldn't be so bad for both of us?

I'm completely unfamiliar with the SE part of Houston.
