Student trying to start a Anime/Manga-houston News Network. What’s happening in Houston?

So for my school's anime club, I propose the idea to showcase anime stuff going on in Houston area every week on our Instagram. It could be convention stuff, pop up shops, events or community news. I'm doing some research right now on Instagram, eventbrite and on Twitter but I wanna ask if you know any anime stuff going on? Do you also know any other sources I could look up? Thank you.
