Catalytic converter thefts in med center area

Tried to drive my car today and it was super loud, and check engine light came on. Went right to the mechanic and they said I am the THIRD Toyota Prius to come in TODAY with a stolen catalytic converter. I live in the med center area. Wth Houston.
