I hate when I come here and ask dumb questions, but I always get an answer, so…

I haven’t lived in Houston very long. I was once driving around with some friends and we were seeing big houses but the neighborhood was sketchy (to them). I want to say I was close to downtown/59 or 69. Maybe we were by U of H. Anyway, I really wanted to go back there, but the people I was with were white AF and negative about the area, but I loved it. Did I dream this neighborhood up?
