Chicago vs. Houston

Hello all,

Currently live in Chicago and my wife and I are currently weighing a move to Houston for a job for me.

Were in our 30s, love Chicago, the food and social scene here, and generally quite enjoy the city, its amenities, and our lives here.

Were both educated professionals and our household income is around ~300k. Same in both places but my pay trajectory would improve a bit, hers would worsen a bit so it basically equals out honestly. But my job would be a bit more prestigious and position me better long term.

Anyway, would love to hear your thoughts on the comparison of the two cities! TIA
