Sewing lessons – beginner

Does anyone have any recommendations where to take sewing lessons? I just dropped my grandmothers machine from the 70s off for repairs. I have no experience but would love to learn basics, how to alter clothes for myself, and eventually how to make my own clothes (maybe one day!)
