International flight out of Houston Hobby Airport

Hello Houstonians,

I’ll be traveling internationally out of Houston Hobby Airport. My flight’s first leg is national. People usually advise arriving at least 2-3 hours before an international flight, but my flight is at 6:05 AM. I can’t do TSA pre-check as I hold an EU passport. What’s a realistic time for arriving, and what are some hotel recommendations close to that airport so I don’t have to drive a lot or take an expensive Uber/Lyft?
