Let’s protest at Gov Abbotts press conference tomorrow!

I’m one of thousands of Houston area residents still without power almost a week after hurricane Beryl. I’m a widow with limited means and not able to vacation my time away or enjoy an overseas trip like our own governor Greg Abbott, who will be in Houston to speak at his first public appearance since the hurricane. For what’s it’s worth, I suffered through a week without electricity or running water during the big winter storm of 2021 and remember with some bitterness how Abbott called for an investigation after people froze to death and died after that storm. Looking back, I’d argue the governor should’ve been on top of this problem by now. During his reelection campaign, I remember his promises to fix problems related to our states electrical grid. Obviously, his calls for an investigation after this storm, his earlier (alleged) efforts for an investigation after the 2021 ice storm and his forgotten campaign promises are worthless. Therefore, I intend to exercise my right to free speech at Abbotts press conference tomorrow. I will be there in person to boo loudly during his appearance. I may or may not hold up a “boo gov. Abbott” protest sign. I may or may not throw spoiled food that currently sits rotting away in my fridge. I haven’t decided. But I will be there and for sure I will boo during the governors comments. A woman can only live on crackers and warm diet sprite for so long before the need to be heard becomes necessary. Anyone care to join me?
