Apartment hunting

Hello,

me and my other two roommates are looking for apartments to stay in and our budget is around $1500. We’ve found a few that we have our eyes on. One is in in the heights area, it’s very close to memorial herman greater heights hospital and i feel like it’s one of our top options location wise and the apartments seem pretty decent as well with decent reviews compared to other ones we saw. Not many reviews mentioning break ins, robbery and car parts being stolen, which is so common in houston.. it’s a little outside of our budget but not horribly based of where it’s at. There are two other apartments that i’ve had my eye on and they are the Tidwell Apartments. I’m seeing mixed reviews about the area and i’m not sure about them. for a three bedroom the rent are pretty cheap as well and within our budget. the apartments themselves have decent reviews and look decent as well. They’re around he Northwest area of houston in the acres home/ oak forest/garden oaks area. Is this a generally safe and decent area to live in? what parts in this area should we avoid and if anyone knows anything about the tidwell apartments ( they have a few different ones) are they a good complex to stay in?
