A lotta y’all owe Dusty an apology…

I had my criticisms of Dusty Baker just like the next guy, but never did I believe that he wasn’t doing a good job giving the team’s circumstances. I always thought he was an exceptional manager. Last year’s team was also riddled with injuries just like this year’s. Yet Dusty still led us to another pennant. I saw people say that Espada or any other of our leading candidates for the manager position this past offseason would be better than Dusty. I saw people call for him to get fired left and right. Any success the team had was in spite of Dusty, yet any failures were conveniently because of Dusty. The same patience I see everyone giving to Espada was never afforded to Dusty. But now everyone is seeing that this s**t is a tough job that not anyone can do. Leading, players, coaches, and staff in one accord to put the best team out there is a hell of a job, and I just wanted to say thank you to Dusty Baker. He ushered in a new era of ‘Stros baseball that achieved repeated success and a championship that no one can deny from us. He’ll always be my favorite Astros manger to date. And I hope he’s enjoying his much deserved retirement.
